Five dealing with stress methods by Diana Milagre


Stress is when our body suffers any type of change or a reaction that makes us do something in order to adjust things. The stress can be physical, emotional and mental. (Clinic, 2015)

Nowadays, is very normal to feel or to be under stress at any age, even kids can be dealing with stress without knowing due to the fact that it can be physical, mental and emotional. Stress is a very serious thing as it can lead people to depression and therefore worse things such as death. Stress sometimes its not seen as serious thing when it actually is, so, here are five methods that will help you to deal with stress:

  • Social Support: whenever you are feeling under stress, talk with people. Share your emotions and let them in, at the end of the day you will just feel a relief because you shared what was bothering you. People will always listen to you and help you in the best way they can, they can give you advice and guide you. 
  • Sleep or eat: Personally, whenever I am feeling under stress, the first thing I do is sleep. I sleep as long as it takes until I'm feeling better and willing to get back to work or even to do what I had to do because after I sleep, I feel very light and disposed to continue with what I have to do. Eating can be a very good method as a lot of people sometimes ( very often ) feel or find comfort on food. People can eat to feel relieved and to regain strength or the animation to feel good again, rested and then start things all over again. 
  • Go to the Gym: whenever we work out, our bodies release endorphins which give us that sensation of joy when we finish working out. Also, while we are training, we either forget about whats happing and concentrate on something else ( on the exercises ) or think about the problem and discount the anger on the exercises or think of solutions that could make you feel better. 
  • Read: I think that reading is the most effective way to relief stress as I can distract myself from everything and forget everything for a moment. While I am reading, I can always enter to another world and forget about the reality, Its kind of a break of everything that may be happening and I think that it is good because whenever I finish, I feel lighter and motivated to keep doing things.
